REDEEM HAITI partnership with IMPACT HAITI
One of the best aspects of being involved in Haiti since the earthquake is seeing how God has brought so many individuals, churches, and smaller organizations together. One such partnership was actually born on the border of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I met Michael Robison in passing at the World Vision office in Jimani, he was coordinating the safe return of orphans to their adopted parents, I was on my way back to PaP with a medical team and on a mission to find unreached orphanages. We exchanged contact information and that was the beginning.
Over the last week we have talked and discussed next steps while spreading our network to many people, churches, and other organizations that would like to be involved in Haiti for the long haul. We have seen support come from many different places with the hope of establishing real life ministry to the people of Haiti. The need for a larger umbrella was made apparent as more folks expressed interest. This leads me to the establishment of IMPACT HAITI.
IMPACT HAITI is a group of ministries and churches who are coming together to make a LONG-TERM difference in Haiti. They are offering opportunities to serve short-term and long-term in many unique and exciting facets of Haitian ministry. This is your chance to serve and care for the great people of Haiti.
IMPACT HAITI will provide a common vision to which the gifts of the different organizations can contribute, as well as providing a greater structure to coordinate between organizations. REDEEM HAITI (RH) remains focused on carrying the gospel to Haiti and using the same plan as before, but now RH has the help of others who are gifted in other areas and can help facilitate the plan.
A return trip to Port au Prince is in the making as we look to establish opportunities for ministry in which others can connect. I know many people are eager to volunteer to go and we want to provide a place for everyone to go and to really connect and serve deeply. Keep praying, God is doing a lot of amazing things in bringing people together that will benefit Haiti for the long term. And stay tuned!
